Strength and Core

We do a variety of core exercises that are super important to maintaining your position on your horse. 

Being an efficient and effective rider requires our physical abilities to be at our best. When we’re strong, straight and in a good position, we can ensure our horses get the best rides possible. 

Balance 
Balance exercises galore are part of the program! This will help you stay centred on your horse so you're in the flow with the movement and your horse can move freely. You'll be able to get into full harmony with your horse. 
Connection
Build an even stronger connection with your horse as you develop even more refined skills through strength and balance. You'll be able to feel your horse more easily and your horse will get more clear direction from you. 

We communicate with our horses through our bodies - this program will enhance the physical well being and performance of both you and your horse.
Flexibility
You will get rider specific stretches to compliment your strength and balance. We need to be supple, nimble and agile just like our horses! 

Improved flexibility will also help prevent injuries from muscle imbalances.

Position
The exercises are specifically designed to reinforce and help you maintain a good position on your horse. Position does matter as it influences your horse's ability to move well. 

When you're in a good position and you can hold your balance, you will feel better and more solid in the saddle. Your horse will be able to stay balanced and in a steady rhythm too!

  • 2 Fitness Sessions per week (1 hour) with Dawn Payne, Physical Therapist and Equestrian.
  • Live, in person sessions available on a regular basis.
  • Sessions are available by Zoom livestream so you can join from anywhere.
  • All sessions are recorded and you will have access to them for one week after each session to do anytime.

*No major equipment is needed for this program. Just a few bungees/bands and light hand weights (1, 2, 3, 5, 8 lbs) OR you can substitute weights with soup cans, water jugs or water bottles, bags of rocks or sand…what ever works for you!
